Parenting Workshop Series Helps You Reach Out to Young Families
Is your church or school looking for ways to involve younger families with
children in your events? Lutheran Hour Ministries' Parenting Families: From
ME to WE program is a great way to introduce these families to your church
or school.
The video series based on the parenting philosophies of Dr. David Ludwig, a
renowned Christian psychologist and LCMS minister, is a six-session series
that gives parents tips they can put to use immediately. The program allows
your church or school to build relationships with parents who may not yet
know Christ or don't have a church home. It does this by sharing Christ's
message of hope in a non-threatening way.
Each weekly video segment features three significant parts:
* A presentation of the main concept by Dr. Ludwig
* Insights from Monique Nunes, a principal, early-childhood educator, and
mother, who takes the concept and applies it to real-life situations
* Pastor Ben Gonzales, who shares personal ways to underscore the
unconditional truth and love of Jesus Christ so that it resonates with
people no matter where they are in their relationship with Jesus
The Parenting Families hosting kit includes everything you need from
promotional materials to follow-up ideas, including a leader guide for
facilitating small-group discussion.
Many parents and teachers are finding that Parenting Families has a lasting
effect. Sue, a high school teacher, says, "I appreciate that while there are
immediate results, the focus is on developing your child's confidence and
independence for a lifetime."
More than 150 Parenting Families kits are being used throughout the U.S. and
as far away as Australia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Canada. Your church
or school can order a Parenting Families: From ME to WE hosting kit by
calling 1-800-944-3450, ext. 4305, or by sending an e-mail to
localmedia@lhm.org.
Many Secular Radio Stations are Airing 'Woman to Woman'
Of the 260 stations currently airing newly produced episodes of Lutheran
Hour Ministries' Woman to WomanR, nearly 70 percent of those are secular
stations, says Sharmon Perschbacher, Radio Specialist for LHM. Listener
feedback following the program's first week of new episodes has been
favorable, with positive responses coming from audience members in both the
United States and Canada. What an opportunity to share God's Word with those
who need to hear it most!
Your church or school can use Woman to Woman, its Web site, and the
electronic newsletter to strengthen your women's groups and moms' clubs.
Host Phyllis Wallace leads a book club that you can participate in with a
small group of your own, posts helpful articles related to show topics, and
writes a monthly electronic newsletter to encourage and uplift subscribers.

Upcoming program topics will range from healing past emotional wounds,
accepting your son's life prison sentence, and getting organized to
understanding a father's approval, setting reasonable margins to overcrowded
lives, and maintaining the non-negotiables of motherhood. To subscribe to
the Woman to Woman e-newsletter or listen to the program online, please
